Hyde-White relocated from England to the United States with his father, Wilfrid Hyde-White, after Wilfrid&amp;#039;s role in Warner Brothers&amp;#039;s successful 1963 film musical &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[w:My Fair Lady|My Fair Lady]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. Hyde-White retained his dual citizenship.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;jimmystar&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
During his teen years, Hyde-White joined his father in the theatrical run of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Jockey Club Stakes&amp;#039;&amp;#039; at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. At age 16, he attended Georgetown University.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;jimmystar&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

At 17, he returned to California to become a contract player for Universal Studios, thus leading to his work on the [[Original Series]] and other Glen Larson series, including &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[w:Buck Rogers in the 25th Century|Buck Rogers in the 25th Century]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[w:Quincy, M.E.|Quincy, M.E.]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; during the 1970s.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;jimmystar&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

In the 1980s, he worked on Broadway and, from there, in England. While in England, he obtained his first starring role in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Biggies: Adventures in Time&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. Work in other countries followed, including &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Ishtar&amp;#039;&amp;#039; in Morocco, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Phantom of the Opera&amp;#039;&amp;#039; in Budapest, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The First Olympics: Athens 1896&amp;#039;&amp;#039; in Greece.
