&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gary Vinson&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (born 22 October 1936, Los Angeles, California, died 15 October 1984, Redondo Beach, California) was an American actor and writer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Vinson had minor roles in some theatrical films in the late 1950s before landing other significant minor and recurring roles in television classics such as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Perry Mason&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gunsmoke&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Maverick&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;77 Sunset Strip&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Wagon Train.&amp;#039;&amp;#039; In 1963, Vinson landed his more memorable role as George &amp;#039;Christy&amp;#039; Christopher in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;McHale&amp;#039;s Navy&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and as Sheriff Harold Sikes in the series &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pistols &amp;#039;n&amp;#039; Petticoats&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In the 1970s, Vinson landed only supporting guest roles in series such as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Streets of San Francisco&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;S.W.A.T.&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Baa Baa Black Sheep&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, including his role as [[Doyle]] in the [[Original Series]] episode, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Greetings from Earth]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Vinson had a minor role in another [[Glen Larson]] series, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Fall Guy&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, as well as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Barnaby Jones&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and &amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Incredible Hulk&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rumored to be distraught over a criminal charge, Vinson committed suicide in 1984.&lt;br /&gt;
