'''Ismel Shanto''', along with his brother [[Issac Shanto]], is a member of the terrorist organization calling themselves the [[Children of Erebus]] (''[[Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 1]]'').

With his brother, he boards ''[[Orion (comic)|Orion]]'' after hearing about [[Arvin Tyler]] and [[Ronnie Dyson]]'s heist, in which Dyson proclaimed that the supplies were for their terrorist organization. Incensed at this, the Shanto brothers pull guns on Tyler, but are summarily disarmed by [[Peter Gilmour]] before [[Colonial Marines]] from the [[Ghost Squadron]] storm the ship.

After the [[Fall of the Twelve Colonies]], Shanto is brought before Captain [[Alexander Chen]], who shoots Issac twice in the leg, before Shanto agrees to give Chen the information he desires regarding their terrorist organization (''[[Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 2]]'').

Summarily locked up in ''Orion''<nowiki>'s</nowiki> brig, Shanto tries to persuade his brother that they are not all that remain of their revolution, despite his brother's protests to the contrary. He and his brother are both shocked when [[Teresa Manning]] visits their cell, claiming that their salvation is at hand (''[[Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 3]]'').
