* Pollux's first name, Joanne, is from the script.
* Pollux was originally credited for "Maelstrom" when it aired, played by an actress named Sarah Ryan. However, this was an apparent error, which has been corrected on DVD, as Sarah Ryan is the name of a deckhand played by a different actress.
* In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux are the twin sons of Leda and the brothers of Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra.
* Pollux is also a star in the constellation Gemini.
