African-Canadian Kandyse McClure became a popular young star through the teen-oriented Fox Family series ''[[w:Higher Ground (TV series)|Higher Ground]]'' (with future ''[[w:Star Wars|Star Wars]]'' star [[w:Hayden Christensen|Hayden Christensen]]) and NBC's Saturday-morning series ''Just Deal''. This "young [[w:Halle Berry|Halle Berry]]" went on to become a rising SF star through her recurring role as Elizabeth Munroe on Showtime's ''[[w:Jeremiah (TV series)|Jeremiah]]''.

Born in South Africa in 1980 and now living in Vancouver, British Columbia, McClure also won acclaim from a host of major newspaper critics for her role as Sue Snell, the haughty high-school girl who gains a conscience, in the 2002 telefilm remake of Stephen King's ''[[w:Carrie (2002 film)|Carrie]]''.

Kandyse McClure made her screen debut in the 1999 TV movie In a ''Class of His Own''. She has gone on to such telefilms as ''2gether'', ''Return to Cabin by the Lake'', ''L.A. Law: The Movie'' and ''Framed'', and starred as a college student caught up in a deadly love triangle in the USA Network Original Movie ''Passion & Prejudice''. * The unique spelling of her name was done when McClure first entered into acting as a "kind of a joke".
