This page (like all pages on this wiki) was imported from the original English-language Battlestar Wiki based on what was available in the Wayback Machine in early 2017. You can see the archive of the original page here.
This is an archive successful proposal that was vetted through the Think Tank, a place where ideas of all kinds are proposed and worked upon by the community prior to implementation. Please do not modify this proposal.

This is a proposal for an official policy regarding who does or does not officially represent the wiki.

Official Representation

In the past, there are people who believe that contributors to the Wiki -- high profile contributors, for example -- officially represent the Wiki itself. While contributors are an integral part of the Wiki, this is not the case. Therefore, this is a proposed policy to codify that no one person may speak for the Wiki, unless:

  1. a group of people agree to an action;
  2. and the person chosen to represent the Wiki is agreed-upon by consensus, which is 85% of all people who participate in the discussion.

The person chosen to represent the wiki should be someone who is honest, has integrity, resepectful, and is viewed by his or her peers as a model contributor to the Wiki. Representatives should be versed in the current atmosphere of the Wiki, as well as versed in how the Wiki operates.

Also, once a representative is chosen, the representative may not deviate from that which has been agreed upon, for whatever reason.

It is to be noted that Joe Beaudoin reserves the right to officially represent the wiki, but will only use such power under extreme circumstances.
