Hoshi was the communications officer on the battlestar Pegasus. His duties on Pegasus mirror those of Petty Officer Anastasia Dualla on Galactica.
Hoshi handles the wireless traffic between Pegasus and its Vipers during the stand-off between the two battlestars (Pegasus).
One year after the settlement of New Caprica and following the departure of the Fleet, Hoshi is still serving on Pegasus in CIC (Occupation).
After the destruction of Pegasus, Hoshi is reassigned and serving in Galactica's CIC (The Passage).
During a standoff with the Cylons, Admiral William Adama orders Hoshi to arm of a series of missile tubes (numbers 4 through 10), each containing a nuclear missile to fire at the algae planet (The Eye of Jupiter).
Notes
- Hoshi means "star" in Japanese.
- In a deleted scene in "The Captain's Hand", Hoshi is relieved of his post by Commander Barry Garner and summarily replaced with Ensign Abel Thornton.
- In Star Trek: Enterprise, Hoshi Sato is the name of the communications officer aboard the NX class starship Enterprise.
