Ronnie Dyson is the jocular, risking-taking right-hand man of Arvin Tyler aboard Orion.

Prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Dyson and Tyler pull a heist on a medical supply truck outside the Aquaria City Extended Care Medical Center; Dyson makes the mistake of throwing in that they are members of the Children of Erebus (although this is not the case, and Dyson throws this in as a scare factor), unawares that the Colonial Fleet is listening to all comm-traffic regarding this terrorist organization.

Having done this, Dyson has attracted the unwanted attention of the Colonial Fleet and its military assets, Therion and the Ghost Squadron, who intercept their getaway shuttle, Sword. However, they are saved from having to deal with the Ghosts as hostilities between the Cylons and the Colonials have broken out (Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 1).
