A zip pod is a form of lifeboat that can be ejected from a Colonial ship.

Medivac 12, against its quarantine, ejects several pods in order to board the ships of the Fleet. Darrin Dualla makes it to battlestar Galactica, which immediately places him in a decontamination room (Battlestar Galactica 1).
