Poll Template

This template will basicly stucture "polls" that put the needed information on the page, but it does not get mixed up with comments. For example, it would be used on this page to count up the votes of the usefullness of the article so people could see a "quick" ref of it's status rather than having to hash out the comments. Also it makes it "seperated from" main proposesl groing through a vote. As it using the built in functions of MediaWiki, alot of the math is calulation done by the software.

The proposal should strive to answer some of the common questions, such as:

  1. What is the benefit of this proposal to the wiki? Puts the formating of polls in the correct format. Does auto-math of the results. Sets up
  2. What is involved in implementing this idea? None.
  3. Who is going to do it? Who ever needs a poll on an idea or question.
  4. Why should we do it at all? Because it keeps votes orginzied that might ususally already have a stucture.
  5. How will we use the idea? Placed anywhere on a page and fill out the values. {{subst:createpoll}} would output the code so it wouldn't have to be copied wrong.
  6. Should the proposal pass, when will work start on this idea? right now it's coded to work with the new CSS files, but it can be changed if the CSS files do not pass.
  7. Where will this idea be implemented? These usually happen on the talk page of "proposed policies" or "proposed ideas" or anything that requries a quick vote. Battlestar Wiki talk:Citation Jihad/Archive02 is a good example of how this template could have been used. Not many comments other than the votes.
