Arkat is a member of Ghost Squadron with a girlfriend, Lisa, who is apparently killed during the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. He carries a small photo of her from their one-year anniversary on Caprica (Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 2).
In the first day following the attack, Captain Alexander Chen seizes the opportunity presented by the fact that Aquaria does not seem to be as devastated as the other colonies, and goes after the military asset on planet known as Medusa. Arkat, Yvon, and the Marines under Sergeant Glenn's command go after this asset, only to have it turned against them after Arkat and Yvon successfully launch. In activating the remote self-destruct sequence, a Number Three kills Arkat, Yvon, and citizens in Aquaria City when the nuke ship self-destructs (Battlestar Galactica: Ghosts 3).
