The Gemini is a freighter in the Fleet.

Originally an ordnance freighter, she is escorted to Laura Roslin's caravan by three Viper Mark VIIs that have escaped the attacks. The Gemini would later join all FTL-capable vessels in their escape to Ragnar Anchorage. She would later survive jumping away from Ragnar during the Battle of Ragnar Anchorage and join the fleet in the Prolmar Sector (TRS: "Miniseries").

Thirty-seven days after the destruction of the colonies, the Gemini is one of three freighters used as decoys in the Battle for the Tylium Asteroid (TRS: "The Hand of God").

It is among the ships that join the Laura Roslin faction that secedes from the Fleet and jumps to Kobol (TRS: "Home, Part I").

The Gemini remains in orbit over New Caprica and escapes with Galactica and Pegasus (TRS: "Occupation").

Both the Gemini and its companion make it through the passage to the algae planet on both the first and fifth jump (TRS: "The Passage").

The Gemini would survive the Battle of the Ionian Nebula relatively intacked while several other ships had been hit (TRS: "He That Believeth In Me"). She would later be flown into the sun following the discovery of Earth (TRS: "Daybreak, Part II").

Notes

  • "Gemini" is the ancient word for Gemenon. Why the ship's owners chose to use this ancient term, rather than the contemporary, is unclear.
  • Cinematically, the usage of "Gemini" is a nod to its Original Series counterpart.
  • Despite appearing frequently throughout the series, no central storyline was established for the vessel at all in the series.
