The Striker is a Colonial vessel which escapes the Fall of the Twelve Colonies and joins with the Fleet. It remains loyal to Commander William Adama during the short-lived schism between the military and civillian governments following the attempt on Adama's life by Cylon infiltrator Sharon "Boomer" Valerii (Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part II).
The Striker is damaged in a collision with a fuel tanker due to the incompetent oversight of recently promoted Captain George Birch, CAG for Galactica in Lee Adama's absence (Home, Part I).
Notes
- This ship is of the same design as the Celestra from the Original Series.
- The tanker isn't identified by name, but its configuration identifies it as a refinery ship, of which the Fleet has two: the Daru Mozu and the Hitei Kan.
- There is no Striker listed on the Roslin/Baltar election board, however. In the image of Striker preparing to refuel before colliding with the refinery ship, the refinery is listed only as "Tanker", perhaps indicating that "Striker" is simply a designation as well, rather than a name. This could also mean the ship was destroyed sometime between Home, Part I and the election in Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II, though there is no indication of this in the show or population count.
